Veliko Turnovo
Veliko Turnovo or Veliko Tarnovo province is located in the mid northern part of Bulgaria and the capital city Veliko Turnovo is known as the old capital of Medieval Bulgaria. The remains of Tsarevets Castle (see below) in Veliko Turnovo are a reminder of one of the oldest Empires in Europe.
Veliko Turnovo is located on the river Yantra, a right tributary of the Danube and has lots of traditional shops, restaurants and places to visit and relax. There is also a newly developed shopping centre that has a multiplex cinema, bowling, shops and restaurants.
